East Rockaway, NY - December 31st, 2013 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Levittown woman for Assault that occurred in East Rockaway on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 11:00 pm.

According to detectives, Fourth Precinct Police responded to a Domestic Disturbance call that occurred at a Third Avenue residence. While resolving the matter a Fourth Precinct Police Officer  was at the top of stairs  escorting the defendant Veronica R. Berk, 31, of 17 Grace Lane, Levittown out of the residence at which time she pushed the police officer down the stairs. The officer sustained injuries to his left leg and to his abdominal area. He was transported by a Nassau County Ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment.

Veronica R. Berk is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Obstructing Government Administration 2nd Degree. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, December 30, 2013.
