NCPD: Pair Arrested for Massapequa Park Robbery

Massapequa Park, NY - December 28th, 2013 - Seventh Squad detectives report the arrest of two men for a Robbery that occurred on December 8, 2013 at 8:40 pm in Massapequa Park.
 
According to detectives, after setting up a meeting to purchase sneakers, the 16 year old male victim met with defendants Moleek Smalls, 16, of 100 Erlanger Blvd., North Babylon and Preshod McCoy, 20, of 43 Essex St., North Babylon in their vehicle on Maple Street. 
 
After being shown sneakers by the defendants, the victim observed that they were not the pair that was negotiated for during their conversations. As the victim attempted to exit the vehicle, Smalls withdrew a handgun and pressed it against his neck demanding his money. After a brief struggle, the victim, who dropped his iphone in the car, was able to exit the vehicle uninjured. After realizing his phone remained in the defendant’s car, he attempted to recover it demanding that the defendants return it to him. Smalls and McCoy, who refused to return it, then fled the scene.
 
A subsequent investigation by detectives led them to the arrests of the defendants. Both Smalls and McCoy are charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree. Defendant Smalls, who was arrested on an earlier date, was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 12/18/2013. Defendant McCoy will be arraigned in First District Court on 12/28/2013.
