Update: Cancelled - SCPD: Silver Alert Issued for Bay Shore Senior

Bay Shore, NY - December 24th, 2013 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Islip man who possibly suffers from dementia.
 
George Smalley, 74, is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He is bald, clean shaven and is wearing gold-rimmed glasses, blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt
 
He was last seen leaving his home, located at 38 Louisiana Ave., Bay Shore, on foot, in an unknown direction. Smalley is a diabetic and sometimes exhibits signs of dementia.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to call Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8339 or call 911.
 
As a reminder, the Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have gone missing.
