Crime Alert: Police Seek Drivers Responsible for Fatal Hit and Run in Patchogue

Patchogue, NY - December 23, 2015 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are seeking the drivers of two vehicles that fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash in Patchogue earlier this month.

Joseph G. Orlando was attempting to cross Route 112 on December 5 at approximately 3 a.m. when he was struck by four vehicles, two of which fled the scene. Orlando, 64, of Riverhead, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have determined the two vehicles that fled the scene are a 2011 to 2015 dark-colored Hyundai Elantra and a 2000 to 2007 white Ford Taurus. Both vehicles possibly sustained lower front end and undercarriage damage.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
