Glen Head Church Burglarized Monday Before Christmas, Cops Say

Update - January 18th, 2015 - The Third Squad reports the details of the arrest of Denis Alvarado, 29, of 50 Jackson Street, Hempstead for the above crimes.  The defendant is being charged with 6 counts of Burglary 3rd Degree and will be arraigned on Monday, January 19, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead. 

Glen Head, NY - December 23rd, 2014 - The Third Squad reports the details of a Burglary which occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 1:02 A.M. in Glen Head.

According to detectives, a male suspect entered the front door of St. Hyacinth’s Church located at 319 Cedar Swamp Road and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the donation and deposit boxes.  He then entered the home goods area of the building and removed assorted clothing and home goods.  The same suspect entered the church on Monday, December 1, 2014 and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the boxes.

Detectives ask anyone with information on these crimes to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
