Family Service League & Island Harvest Food Bank Holiday Made Extra Special with Donations of Toys & Food to Children in Need

Suffolk County, NY - December 21, 2016 - Family Service League (FSL), a Long Island non-profit human service agency, is pleased to announce that over 1,100 children in the Mastic, Shirley and surrounding communities will be receiving toys this holiday season at the William Floyd Family Center (WFFC) in partnership with the William Floyd School District (WFSD). 

Thanks to so many generous corporate and individual donors making donations to FSL’s Project TOY initiative, local families facing overwhelming financial stress will be given the gift of a brighter holiday for their children. 

In addition, a collaborative effort with Island Harvest Food Bank (Island Harvest) has provided over 75 families with a full turkey dinner complete with trimmings.   Donations are still being accepted; for more information on ways to help please contact 631-470-6771.

FSL’s 2016 Project TOY initiative will serve over 6,000 children throughout Long Island this holiday season.

Family Service League, established in 1926, is a Long Island non-profit human service organization providing a safety net for people in need.  Touching the lives of 50,000 people annually, addressing some of the most prevalent and pressing human needs facing Long Island communities, FSL delivers tangible help and crisis intervention across a spectrum of service areas including mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, job training, computer literacy, trauma counseling, family counseling, and senior support services.
