Brentwood Man Arrested for Sending Sexually Explicit Pictures to 13-Year-Old on Facebook

Brentwood, NY - December 22, 2015 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Brentwood man on December 21, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child.

According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, Yobani Diaz, 36 of Brentwood met a 13 year old male Juvenile on a Facebook buy and trade site in 2014. Over the course of a year the defendant and victim exchanged sneakers, both new and used, at mutually agreed upon locations. As the relationship developed Diaz began to send sexually explicit pictures to the victim through Facebook messenger and asked the victim to send pictures and videos of himself.  The victim told a parent about the relationship, and she contacted police. Detectives located Diaz on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. and placed him under arrest.

Diaz is charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, (2) two counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
