Suffolk Legislator Lindsay’s Community Coat Drive Exceeds Previous Years

Written by Long Island News & PR  |  21. December 2018

Holbrook, NY - December 21, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay exceeded expectations for his annual Community Coat Drive for Every Child’s Dream. Legislator Lindsay and his colleagues at the Suffolk County Legislature collected coats, sweatshirts, sweaters, and blankets for this admirable organization.

Members of the community donated to district offices throughout November and December. They were then distributed on December 14th at Every Child’s Dream’s 16th Annual Holiday Dinner Party which was held at Sayville High School and staffed by volunteers from the high school.

“The immense outpouring of generosity from the community in Suffolk County continues to amaze me,” said Legislator Lindsay. “This year, I was astonished by the incredible number of coats, blankets, and other winter items that were donated this year. This was, by far, our largest collection to date. Too many adults and children go without warm clothing for winter. Due to the generosity of groups like Every Child’s Dream, residents will be a little warmer this winter.”

Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay is the Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, Vice Chairman of the Parks & Recreation Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Government Operations, Personnel, Information Technology, and Housing Committee. Bill represents the 8th legislative district.
