SCPD Crime Alert: Suspects Wanted for Petit Larceny as a Hate Crime

Saint James, NY - December 20th, 2013 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Hate Crimes Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person or people responsible for stealing figures from a nativity scene in Saint James.

An unknown person or persons stole two plastic Wise Men from a nativity scene, located at the intersection of Route 25A and Lake Avenue in Saint James, sometime between December 16 and December 17. The nativity scene was set up by the Saint James Chamber of Commerce.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
