Nassau County PD: Homeless Man Arrested for Attempted Grand Larceny

Hicksville, NY - December 20th, 2013 -  The Second Squad reports an arrest for Grand Larceny which occurred on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in Hicksville.

According to detectives, the female victim, 22, called her missing cell phone which was answered by Lamont Holloway, a homeless man 46 years of age.  Holloway told the victim he would return the victims phone in exchange for twenty dollars.  The parties met at the Hicksville train station where Holloway refused to produce the phone but demanded the twenty dollars.  An argument ensued resulting in responding officers placing Holloway under arrest without incident.  The phone was not recovered.
 
Holloway is charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree (Attempt) and will be arraigned on Friday, December 20, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
