Bay Park Couple Busted in East Rockaway for Cocaine Possession

East Rockaway, NY - December 19th, 2014 - Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives report the details of two arrests for criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance which occurred in East Rockaway on Thursday, 12/18/14 at 4:15 P.M.

According to detectives, David Ortiz, 26, and Alicia Jewell, 29, both of Kirgan Ct., Bay Park sold a quantity of cocaine and oxycodone to another for an agreed upon amount of money, while at their residence. The defendants’ child was in the home at the time of the sale. Additionally, defendant Ortiz violated a Family Court Order of Protection by being in the company of co-defendant Jewell. Detectives recovered cocaine, oxycodone pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash from their residence.

Ortiz is being charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, five counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 4th Degree, three counts of Criminal Sale Control Substance 3rd Degree, Aggravated Family Offense, and Criminal Contempt 1st Degree.  Jewell is being charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 4th Degree.

Both defendants will be arraigned on Friday, 12/19/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
