Police: Attempted 7-11 Robbery Thwarted After Employee Fights off Suspects with Knife, Pizza Cutter

West Hempstead, NY - December 18, 2017 - The Fifth Squad reports the details of an Attempted Robbery that occurred on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 2:04 a.m. in West Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, two unknown male subjects entered the 7-11 located at 310 Hempstead Avenue and threatened the store employee, a 67 year old male, with a black handgun. The victim grabbed a kitchen knife and a pizza cutter attempting to fight of one of the subjects. Both subjects fled from the store, entered a nearby sedan located near 238 Lindberg Street and fled southbound.  No proceeds were taken. No injuries were reported.
 
Subject number one is described as a male, black, 20-30 years of age, wearing a dark colored facemask, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and black sneakers. Subject number one threatened the victim with a black handgun. Subject number two is described as a male, black, 20-30 years of age, wearing a dark colored facemask, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and black sneakers.
