Westbury, NY - December 18, 2017 - Third Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for criminal possession of a weapon that occurred in Westbury on Friday, 12/15/17 at 1:20 P.M.
According to detectives, Third Precinct police officers responded to a call for shots fired that originated from NYC jurisdiction. Hakiem Francis, 20, of New Cassel, was operating a 2008 Nissan Altima eastbound on the Northern State Pkwy. and firing BB gun shots at other motorists. Police officers located the defendant in his car parked in his driveway, where he was placed under arrest. The BB gun was recovered from the auto in addition to a loaded handgun.
Francis is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession Firearm and will be arraigned on Saturday, 12/16/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
