Silver Alert CANCELLED: William McDowall of Ridge Missing and Suffers from Dementia

The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Ridge man who suffers from dementia.

Ridge, NY - December 15, 2015 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Ridge man who suffers from dementia.

William McDowall, 60, of the Ridge Rest home, located at 631 Whiskey Road, Ridge, was last seen today at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, Patchogue at  4:30 p.m.  McDowall is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and 250 pounds with gray, balding hair. McDowall was last seen wearing a light-brown jacket, blue jeans, and a dark colored wool hat. Detectives believe he left on foot.   He is believed to walk with a limp and has what appears to be slight paralysis on the left side of his mouth.

Anyone with information on William McDowall’s whereabouts is asked to contact Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552 or call 911.

As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
