Merrick, NY - December 14, 2018 - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) recently recognized the Heide family of Merrick for staging an annual Christmas display that gets residents across Nassau County in the holiday spirit.

The exuberant showcase, which has been a holiday season staple for decades, was recently featured on ABC’s “Great Christmas Light Fight.” Matriarch Karen Heide leads the charge each year on the interior Christmas décor - except for son Philip’s Nutcrackers - while Philip and father Lenny oversee lining the lawn, house and pitched roof with hundreds of nostalgic decorations. There’s even an animatronic Donner that describes the display to spectators.
