Hempstead, NY - December 13, 2014 - The Third Squad is investigating an Assault that occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 3:42 am in Hempstead.

According to detectives, a 26 year old male victim was walking on Linden Avenue, when he was approached by a male black and female black (no further description) in a black vehicle.  The male driver began talking to the victim and as he approached the car the victim was shot in the left side of his body.  The subjects then fled in an unknown direction.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries and is listed in stable condition.
