Rakkii Ramen Opens New Location in Smithtown

Written by Lon Cohen  |  13. December 2019

According to the owner, the name Rakkii Ramen, a new Japanese ramen noodle restaurant in Smithtown, comes from the pronunciation of the Japanese word for lucky.

They said that business has been improving since they soft-opened on November 26th and a representative for the restaurant said in an email to LongIsland.com that they are still training their staff to continually improve and provide “the high standard of service to our customers that has always been our goal.” They say that they are also open to feedback.

With two locations in Pennsylvania and one coming to New Jersey, the restaurant chose Long Island for its newest location.

Owner Alex Duan said that the original restaurant was started by a good friend of his and he bought the rights to operate on Long Island.

Popular items on the menu include the Tonkotsu Ramen which they say is the most classic ramen dish in the restaurant, made with pork broth. If you’re looking for classic ramen, this is the one to try. Spicy Miso is another popular item. If you like your food spicy this would be a good choice. Their most unique offering is the Curry Ramen.

“I never thought curry can mix with ramen so well before I tried it,” the representative said.

He also shared a secret menu hack: Order curry ramen with Karaage Chicken instead of original chashu for only three dollars more. (So worth it!)

Location: 97 E Main Street, Smithtown, (631) 780-6500.
