Suffolk Police Team Up with Target For Heroes and Helpers Program

Bay Shore, NY - December 11, 2013 - The Suffolk County Police Department is partnering with Target to give underprivileged children in Suffolk County a holiday shopping experience. 
 
Thirty children will participate in Target’s nationwide program known as Heroes and Helpers, during which, the children, who are between 8 and 16 years old, will each receive a $50 gift card that they can spend at Target.
 
Suffolk County Police officers as well as members of the Suffolk County Police Explorers program, a public service group for young adults, will assist the children during their shopping trip, which is being held today at the Bay Shore Target at 5:30 p.m. The children can spend the gift cards on anything in the store and Target will supply snacks during the event.
 
WHEN:        Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
