Brooklyn Man Nabbed for Home Break-Ins in Valley Stream & Elmont

Valley Stream, NY - December 11th, 2013 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of a Brooklyn man for burglaries that occurred in Valley Stream and Elmont on 11/12/13, 11/13/13 and 11/22/13.

According to detectives, on 11/12/13 at 12:40 P.M., Tyrone McCalla, 26, of 1356 Pacific St., entered a residence on Rosedale Rd. in Valley Stream by prying a side door lock.  The defendant ransacked the dwelling until he was interrupted by a resident. He then fled the scene without proceeds. On 11/13/13 at 11:00 A.M., the defendant entered a residence on Circle Dr. N. in Elmont through a rear first floor window.  Once inside, he took cash and assorted jewelry. On 11/22/13 at 11:10 A.M., the defendant entered a residence on Heatherfield Lane in Valley Stream through a rear basement window.  The defendant was confronted by the resident inside the home and fled the scene without proceeds.  McCalla was identified by latent fingerprints recovered at the scenes.
 
No injuries were reported.

Bureau of Special Operations police officers arrested the defendant on Tuesday, 12/10/13 at Queens County Criminal Court.  He is being charged with three counts of Burglary 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, 12/11/13 in First District Court, Hempstead.
