Catholic Health recently welcomed Katie Ledecky—nine-time Olympic gold medalist, 23-time world champion swimmer and Health & Wellness Ambassador at Catholic Health—to the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville for An Evening with Katie Ledecky. The event provided an inspiring glimpse into the life of the most decorated female swimmer in history, moderated by Sports Anchor Bruce Beck.
On the evening of December 2, Ms. Ledecky reflected on her record-breaking career and commitment to healthy living, discussing her journey to success and partnership with Catholic Health to help Long Islanders unlock their full physical and mental potential.
“Our health is at the center of our lives, and through consistency and mindfulness, we can take charge of it,” said Ms. Ledecky. “I’ve always believed in the power of proactivity and resilience in one’s well-being. Success lies not only in working to become healthy, but also in making choices to stay healthy, and it’s been a pleasure sharing that message with Long Islanders as Health & Wellness Ambassador at Catholic Health.”
Following an engaging conversation between Ms. Ledecky and Mr. Beck, the floor opened up for an audience Q&A, offering attendees a deeper look into the Olympian’s mindset and personal approach to health and wellness.
“Katie embodies the discipline, compassion and commitment to excellence central to our mission at Catholic Health,” said Patrick M. O’Shaughnessy, DO, MBA, president and CEO of Catholic Health. “Her journey reflects our belief that a dedication to preventive, holistic care is key to lifelong health and success, and we were honored to welcome her to Long Island and the Tilles Center to further spread that message in the communities we serve.”
The event builds on Catholic Health’s Optimizing Your Health for Greater Performance campaign launched earlier this year, which promotes the importance of proactive, preventive health strategies. Catholic Health’s model of personalized, relationship-driven care empowers patients to optimize their physical and mental health through a variety of integrative medicine programs focused on nutrition, sleep, stress management, chronic disease prevention and more.
