Long Island Board of REALTORS (LIBOR) Chief Executive Officer Tessa Hultz, RCE, CAE, was named the recipient of the William R. Magel Award of Excellence by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) during its 2022 REALTOR® Conference and Expo held recently in Orlando, Florida.

The William R. Magel Award of Excellence, the highest honor bestowed on an Association Executive (AE), is presented annually to an individual who has truly excelled in her or his role as an association executive of a REALTOR association.

The most compelling candidates are those who are well-known within the AE community, with an extensive record of participation, mentorship, and contributions that are consistent with the Award’s qualifications. The Magel Award recipient should be a person of such achievement and stature that we all say “of course,” when the recipient is announced.

Since 2019, Hultz has served as CEO of LIBOR, a leading regional REALTOR trade association that serves real estate professionals throughout Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. LIBOR has over 30,000 members and is home to one of the nation's largest, most diverse memberships. Hultz previously held association management and CEO positions at REALTOR® associations in Missouri, Kansas, and North Carolina.

Through her leadership, Hultz has guided many others to realize their potential through new learning opportunities. She has served as a volunteer mentor, instructor, and speaker for new AEs. She has inspired and mentored staff and leadership to work toward earning their RCE, CIPS, and CMLX designations, as well as AHWD and e-PRO certifications, C2EX endorsement, and becoming RPAC Major Investors.

Hultz’s dedication has earned her several notable achievements and honors, including recognition by her peers as an inaugural recipient of the NAR Association Executives Young Professionals Network Leaders of Tomorrow Award, and induction into the Bud Smith Leadership Society, whose members play an active, ongoing role as leading contributors to the industry and innovative mentors for the Association Executive community.

Hultz recognizes the importance of giving back to the community and has strong connections to Habitat for Humanity and You Gotta Believe (YGB), a Long Island organization that supports and helps place teen foster children into families.

Hultz’s passion lies in advocating for safe, affordable housing for all. Her personal mission for LIBOR is to continue to create a new identity as a national leader in equality and opportunity in homeownership.

“Tessa Hultz is the embodiment of all that the William R. Magel Award was created to recognize,” said LIBOR President Kevin Loiacono. “Long Island Board of REALTORS is proud that Tessa’s extraordinary stewardship and unwavering commitment to Fair Housing are being celebrated nationally, and we congratulate her on this momentous achievement.”
