Legislator Anker Honors Cross-Country Coaches from Shoreham-Wading River

Riverhead, NY - December 7, 2017 - At the General Legislature Meeting on Tuesday, December 5, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker honored Paul Koretzki and Bob Syzmanski, cross-country coaches from Shoreham-Wading River High School. Earlier this year, both coaches were recognize as Coaches of the Year by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

“I am pleased to honor Coach Koretzki and Coach Syzmanski for their hard work and dedication to the student-athletes at Shoreham-Wading River High School,” said Legislator Anker. “Their leadership is undeniable and they always go above and beyond to help their teams. Both have become exceptional role models for their students, the community, and other coaches across Suffolk County.”

Paul Koretzki and Bob Syzmanski have a combined 72 years of experience and a combined 100 seasons of coaching cross country, winter track, and spring track. Paul joined the Shoreham-Wading River School district in 1980 and is the coach of the girls cross country team. Bob joined the district shortly after in 1981 and is the coach of the boys cross country team. Throughout the years, they have continuously worked together to balance their strengths and their coaching styles to produce positive results.
