The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 8 am Tuesday to 2 am EDT Wednesday. * Winds...south 20 to 30 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph. * Timing...developing Tuesday morning and continuing through the evening, ending from west to east at night. * Impacts...gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few isolated power outages may result. Travel will be impacted over bridges and overpasses. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Glen Cove, NY - December 6, 2016 - On Friday, December 16th, at 7:30 p.m. the North Shore Pops Concert Band will perform at St. Rocco’s Parish Hall, 18 Third Street, Glen Cove, NY. Come join us in the spirit of the season! The evening promises to be a fun evening for the whole family. A free will offering, benefiting MOMMAS House, enabling them to continue their work making a difference in the  lives of young mothers and their children.

MOMMAS House is a home for young mothers aged 17-21 and their babies. For approximately two years, single, homeless young women at MOMMAS House continue their education or vocational experience interrupted by pregnancy. With guidance and direction, these moms can learn to parent effectively and to support themselves and their children. Donations and the assistance of volunteers provide most of the support.
