Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident in N. Bay Shore
North Bay Shore, NY - December 5th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a man in North Bay Shore today.
Manuel Dejesus-Garcia was attempting to cross Pine Aire Drive from the south to the north just east of Gardiner Drive when he was struck by a 2012 Honda Pilot being driven by Joshua Sanchez at approximately 12:10 p.m. Dejesus-Garcia, 20, of Brooklyn, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was later pronounced dead. Sanchez, 23, of Brentwood was not injured and stayed at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
