Doc's Millenium
Holiday Spectacular

Long Island Singles - you won't want to miss Doc's/Millenium Parties Holiday Spectacular #2, happening this Saturday from 7:30PM - 1AM
at the Metropolitan Club in Glen Cove.

The night is sure to be a blast, and will include a dinner buffet, a live band, DJ dancing, and of course the opportunity to meet lots of locals!

Tickets are $24 per person, and capacity attendance is expected, so be sure to arrive early!

Thanksgiving & Hannukah have both come and gone, and December is well under way - it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here on Long Island, where locals and businesses are getting into the spirit of the season with festive lights, decorations, and celebrations. This weekend is supposed to be a cold one with a fair chance of snow, but don't let the cold scare you - there is still plenty of seasonal fun happening! From Holiday Craft Fairs, to meet & greet events with Santa, and of course the opening weekend of the GSSC's 10th Annual Holiday Light Show, there is plenty to do this weekend!

Don't Miss Out on LI's Largest Light Show's Spectacular 10th Year!
This December, you won't want to miss the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County's 10th Annual Holiday Light Show - Long Island's largest and brightest holiday light spectacular! Drive through a mile-long wooded trail filled with dazzling light displays and holiday vignettes, and start a new Holiday Tradition with your family. After the show, warm up at the Holiday Village, where you can take photos with Santa, visit the Hall of Trees, and enjoy hot cocoa and snacks. Now through December 30th, the Light Show will be open daily from 5PM - 9PM (closed Dec 24th & 25th), and admission is just $12 per carload on weekdays, and $15 per carload on weekends - making it the perfect way to celebrate the holiday without breaking the bank! Proceeds benefit Girl Scout programs and outreach services, so come out and celebrate the holiday season while supporting a great cause this year.

Seiskaya Ballet's Nutcracker
Coming to SBU's Staller Center December 20th - 23rd
This season, you won't want to miss out on LI’s premiere holiday favorite, Seiskaya Ballet’s Nutcracker,  happening December 20th - 23rd for six performances at SBU’s Staller Center. Praised by Newsday as “ENCHANTING,” “Polished” and the New York Times as “lavish,” the cast includes former New York City Ballet principal Stephen Hanna and Seiskaya principals Alexandra Palma and Danielle Lovetro. Weekend performances are: Friday 7 PM, Saturday 2 & 7PM, Sunday 1 & 6PM and Monday 7 PM.  Prices: $40 adults, $34 children and seniors, and $30 for groups of 20 or more.

This Week's Best Long Island Events 
 
Santa Day and Tree Lighting
Are you ready to get into the Christmas cheer? If so, The Santa Day & Tree Lighting is a fun, family event you don't want to miss! Head out to the Mattituck Shopping Center on December 7th where Starbucks will be giving out free hot chocolate to keep you warm as you watch the tree light up! Also enjoy caroling in front of CVS with the Mattituck School Chorus. Children will get to take a free photo with Santa as well to take home with them as a festive souvenir! Free hot chocolate and photos will take place at 4 PM, followed by the tree lighting shortly after at 4:30 PM.

55th Annual Candlelight House Tour
Get the whole family into a festive mood by attending The 55th Annual Candelight House Tour at the Three Village Historical Society in Setauket. If you're a fan of architecture, come on down December 6th or 7th from 6-11 PM to attend our annual tour. Learn about the historical details of each home from staff that will be present to answer any of your questions while the children enjoy the radiant view of the beautifully lit up, select homes. Each home will be dressed in holiday decorations, done successfully by a team of local decorators.

Pet Meet & Greet with Santa
Pets are a huge part of the family, so bring yours down to the Talmage Farm Agway on December 7th anytime between 10 AM & 2 PM to have their photo taken with Santa! We welcome all kinds of pets to join us including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, pet chickens... we've even taken photos with donkeys! Dress your pet up in a Santa hat or a festive bandana for their holiday photo shoot which is free of charge. After the photos are taken, each pet will receive a free Christmas stocking to hang up with the rest of the families at home!

Santa Visits the Railroad Museum of Long Island Greenport Location
Meet with Santa at the Greenport's Railroad Museum of Long Island on December 7th & 8th and also visit our museum's displays. Our free event will begin at 11:30 AM, with Santa arriving at Noon. Shop around at our gift shop for the holidays while enjoying light refreshments that will be served. Also, don't miss out on our raffle for a chance to win a "Lionel" Polar Express, "O" Gauge Toy Train Set! The drawing will be held at the museum on December 15th at 3:00 PM. It is just $1.00 for a chance, or $5.00 for a book of six chances! Winners do not need to be present to win.
