NCPD Crime Alert: Taxi Driver Mugged in New Cassel

New Cassel, NY - December 5th 2014 - The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:20 pm in New Cassel.

According to detectives, a 36 year old male driver working for Centro American Taxi responded to the vicinity of 3 Dogwood Lane to pick up a fare. At this time an unknown male subject approached and opened his cab rear door while pointing a black handgun and demanded cash. After the victim complied with handing over an undisclosed amount of US currency the subject then fled on foot west on Dogwood Avenue. The victim later called police.  The subject is described as male, black, 6’0” tall, 170 lbs, thin build, black ski hat, gray shirt. There were no injuries reported.
