Levittown, NY - December 4, 2017 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Assault that occurred on Friday, December 01, 2017 at 11:00 pm in Levittown.
 
According to detectives, defendant Edwin Gonzalez, 23, arrived at the 24 year old male victim’s home in Levittown where a verbal argument ensued and escalated into a physical altercation. The defendant then struck the victim on the neck with an unknown sharp object and fled the scene on foot leaving his vehicle behind.
 
The victim was transported by private auto to a local hospital where he is being treated for a lacerated artery. After an investigation the defendant was placed under arrest on Saturday, December 02, 2017 at 2:00 am in East Meadow.
 
Defendant Gonzalez is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, December 02, 2017 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
