SCPD Crime Alert Man Robs West Babylon Convenience Store

West Babylon, NY - December 3rd 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in West Babylon last evening.

A man entered The Barn, located at 10 Belmont Avenue, at 9:53 p.m. and displayed a silver knife to the employees. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled on foot eastbound on Kenyon Avenue. There were no injuries to the employees. The knife appeared to be approximately one foot long with a curved blade and a jagged edge.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20s, approximately 6 feet one inch tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a purple knit cap, green camouflage jacket and large gold-rimmed sunglasses.
