Man Arrested for Using Fake Bills to Buy Frozen Yogurt

Baldwin, NY - December 3rd 2014 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of Massapequa man for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 6:35 pm in Baldwin.

According to detectives, Michael Rapaport, 41 of Merrick Road attempted to pay for a yogurt at Swirl Bliss located at 1777 Grand Avenue with a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. When the owner informed Rapaport that the bill was counterfeit he fled the store on a bicycle. First Precinct officers responded to the area and located the defendant on Grand Avenue where they placed him under arrest.  The defendant was found to be in possession of additional counterfeit bills in his wallet at the time of his arrest.

Rapaport is charged with (15) fifteen counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, December 03, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
