SCPD: Man With Stolen Cash Register Arrested on LIRR Train

Queens, NY - December 3, 2013 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man who was acting suspiciously on a Long Island Railroad (LIRR) train and found with a stolen cash register.
 
Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) Police responded to a call of a man acting suspiciously on a Penn Station-bound LIRR train this morning.  The MTA officers approached the man near the Jamaica station and discovered that he was concealing a cash register.  Fifth Squad detectives conducted an investigation and discovered that the register was stolen last night at approximately 9:30 p.m. from Eloisa Beauty Center, located at 122 Medford Ave., Patchogue. 
 
Cory Ford, 34, of Ridge St., Newark, New Jersey, was arrested at approximately 11:50 a.m. and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree.  Ford will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at Fist District Court in Central Islip on December 4.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
