Keeping the Kids Active & Busy While Out of School: Winter Break Camps for Kids

The holidays are coming up which means the kids will be home and out of school soon for their Winter breaks. While Winter Break is the perfect time to catch up on sleep, play with newly received holiday presents and veg-out in front of the tube, it is also the perfect time for kids to participate in Winter camps on Long Island! Winter camps on the Island offer many different programs for various age ranges. Kids can learn to play an instrument, improve their basketball skills, express their artistic creativity, and much more!

Check out these great Winter camps for kids located across the Island!

Bach To Rock Music School: Winter Camp in Port Washington – The kids will love getting acquainted with new instruments, and letting their creative side shine, at this music themed camp! Pick from camps like, Glee Club, Rock Band, Record a Studio Demo, Rock City World Tour and Recording Arts: ProTools & Production. Age appropriateness depends on chosen program.

Center for Science Teaching & Learning in Rockville Centre – Check out the full-day programs offered through the Center for Science Teaching & Learning over holiday breaks! Open to ages 4-12. Program activities include arts & crafts, animal explorations, science experiments and more!

Island Garden Basketball: December Holiday Camp in West Hempstead – Boys and girls will have a blast building up their basketball skill sets, participating in contests and games, and learning all about the game! Grades 2-9.

Kids of Summer Baseball and Softball Academy: All Star Winter Training Camp in Uniondale – Kids will love learning the ins and outs of baseball and softball at this Winter training program! Open to kids ages 4-15. The program consists of ten 90 minute sessions.

LIU Post Winter Youth Camp Program in Brookville – Let your child spend their Saturday mornings learning and improving new skills! With classes like Creative Writing, Algebra, American Sign Language and more, there’s something for every child to enjoy. Age appropriateness depends on chosen program.

Port Washington Skating Center: Holiday Hockey Camp – Port Washington Skating Center is offering 10 sessions to help kids accelerate their hockey progress, and of course, have fun! Children can be enrolled on a daily basis or enrolled for the entire session.
