Officials Report Woman Arrested During Saint James Massage Parlor Raid

Saint James, NY - December 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police arrested a woman for prostitution during a raid at a massage parlor in Saint James, New York on Thursday, November 30, 2017, 2017.
 
In response to numerous community complaints, Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, Suffolk County Police Criminal Intelligence detectives, Town of Smithtown building inspectors and fire marshals conducted an investigation into illegal activities at 266 Angel Spa & Bodywork, Inc., located at 266 Lake Ave., at approximately 4 p.m.
 
During an investigation conducted by the Town of Smithtown Fire Marshal and Building Inspector, 11 town and state code violations were discovered and summonses were issued for each.
 
Wenya Ling, 49, of St James, was arrested and charged with Prostitution and Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a Class E Felony under the New York State Education law.
 
Ling will be held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, on December 1st. The investigation is continuing.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
