North Babylon Mom Arrested After DWI Crash with 2 Year-Old Daughter in Vehicle, Cops Say

North Babylon, NY - December 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a woman for driving under the influence of alcohol with her child in her vehicle following a motor vehicle crash in North Babylon on Thursday, November 30, 2017.
 
Desiree Dubois was driving a 1996 Nissan Maxima eastbound on Lombard Street at approximately 10:50 p.m. when she struck a parked vehicle, overturning the Maxima. Dubois’s 2-year-old son was in the vehicle, and he was not injured. He did not go to a hospital and was released to a family member. Dubois was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of minor injuries.
 
Dubois, 27, of North Babylon was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
