Little Kitchen Provides Cozy Spot for Coffee & Small Meals in Wantagh

Written by Lon Cohen  |  27. November 2019

Little Kitchen describes itself as a cozy friendly spot for people to come and enjoy locally sourced coffee, house made baked goods, frittatas and sandwiches. The partners who opened the Wantagh restaurant say the name was easy to come up with.

“Our kitchen is really little, we do the best we can with the allocated space,” said co-owner Carlo Stanisci to Longisland.com in an email exchange. “Little Kitchen was my partner Lina's idea.”

Lina DeFalco and Stanisci opened up across from the Long Island Railroad station in Wantagh at the end of August and have customers have already embraced the little kitchen concept.

“In the short time that we have been opened our neighbors and community have made us feel very welcomed and for new small business owners we are very grateful,” Stanisci said.

Popular dishes include their daily frittata, mini breakfast omelette, meatballs and housemade chicken salad.

“And don't forget our baked goods,” Stanisci added.

The small kitchen not only inspired their name but also creativity.

“We do not have a griddle just an oven which challenges us to be creative when coming up with menu items,” he said.

Stanisci and DeFalco want people to feel at home in their place for meet ups and a place to “call for a home cooked dinner.”

They serve breakfast, lunch and have added to-go only dinner items for now.

They have also been doing their part to give back to the community that has supported them..

“We do our part to support the community by helping in collecting Thanksgiving bags for the Long Island Food Drive.”
