Police: West Babylon Man Arrested in Connection with Burglary of Farmingdale Car Wash

Farmingdale, NY - November 26, 2018 - Second Squad detectives report the arrest of a West Babylon man for an incident that occurred on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 4:20 pm in Farmingdale.

According to detectives, Second Precinct officers responded to the Farmingdale Car Wash, 166 Fulton Street to investigate a burglary that had occurred on the above date and time where a rear door was pried and cash was removed from the businesses register. During that investigation video evidence as well as fingerprint evidence was obtained from the scene and led detectives to the identity of the subject, Johan Serrano, 18.
 
On Sunday, November 25, 2018, Serrano was located in West Babylon and was placed under arrest. During his arrest Serrano was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle from a prior incident that occurred in Massapequa Park.
 
Serrano is charged with two (2) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 11/26/2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
