Newly Born Baby Dropped Off at Wantagh Firehouse on Thanksgiving
Update from Nassau University Medical Center - November 25, 2016 - A new born baby dropped off at the Wantagh Firehouse on Thanksgiving Day. The baby was only 3 hours old and still had part of the umbilical cord on it.

Wantagh, NY - November 25, 2016 - The Public Information Office reports the details of an Unusual Incident that occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 11:46 A.M. in Wantagh.
According to police, Seventh Precinct Officers and a Nassau County Police Medic responded to the Wantagh Fire House Headquarters, at 3470 Park Avenue to assist with the drop off of a baby to the AMT Children of Hope Baby Safe Haven. The fire house is a dedicated Safe Haven drop off location. Upon their arrival a white female baby, approximately 3 hours old, 4lbs 2oz was received by the Wantagh Fire Department and the Police Medic at the scene. They conducted a well check on the child before transporting in a fired department ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The child is the 3,299 child the AMT Children of Hope Baby Safe Haven Foundation has received nationally since its inception in 1998 and 15th child this year in New York State.
