Man and Woman Arrested in Farmingdale After Attacking Victim with Knife, Machete, Police Say
South Farmingdale, NY - November 24, 2017 - Second Squad detectives report the details of two arrests for an assault that occurred in South Farmingdale on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 9:40 A.M.
According to detectives, Mark Walker, 49, and Taneshia Marshall, 37, both of Deer Park, were involved in a verbal argument with a male victim, 36, while in a parking lot on Main Street. The two defendants then went to their vehicle, removed a machete and knife and chased the victim through the parking lot. Walker struck the victim on the upper back with the machete. The victim and defendants are known to each other. A passerby notified police.
Nassau County Police Ambulance transported the victim, who sustained a laceration, to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
Fourth Precinct police officers arrested both defendants at the scene. Walker and Marshall are each being charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession Weapon 4th Degree and will be arraigned on Friday, 11/24/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
