Update: Freeport Man Arrested for Robbing Merrick Bank

Update - January 21st, 2015 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of Nicholas Lucarello, 31 of W. Merrick Road, Freeport. Robbery Squad detectives assisted by the Bureau of Special Operations located Lucarello on Jackson Street, Hempstead where he was placed under arrest without incident. 

Lucarello is charged with Robbery 3rd degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 01/22/2015.

Merrick, NY - November 24th, 2014 - The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a bank robbery that occurred on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 9:53am in Merrick.

According to Robbery Squad Detectives, a male suspect entered the TD Bank located at 2260 Merrick Road and presented a demand note to a teller. After obtaining an undetermined amount of U.S. currency the suspect fled on foot eastbound on Merrick Road then northbound into the CVS parking lot.  There were six employees and four customers present at the time of the robbery.  No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a male white, 20-30 years of age, 6’ -6’2”, wearing sunglasses, a wool winter cap with a snowflake design, blue hooded style sweatshirt and dark pants.
