On Thanksgiving Day, there are extra trains to get you to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and extra trains to get you home when the festivities are over. There will be extra trains on Saturday, November 30,  and Sunday, December 1 as well, making travel to and from New York City, a snap for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Off-Peak Fares in Effect Thursday thru Sunday
As a holiday bonus, the LIRR will offer tickets at off-peak prices over the four-day weekend from Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 through Sunday, December 1. That means kids ages 5-11 (limit of 4 children) can ride one-way for $1 when accompanied by a fare paying parent or guardian. However, those tickets must be purchased before you board the train. Weekly and monthly ticket holders pay just for the kids and, as always, children under 5 ride free.
