Crime Update: Three Teens Arrested for Stealing Delivered Packages, NCPD on the Lookout For Hempstead Bank Robber

Three Teens Arrested for Stealing Delivered Packages
Three teenagers were arrested by Nassau County police after an alleged spree that involved stealing delivered packages. The incident started at around 1:00 p.m. on Friday and took place in Franklin Square and Elmont.
 
On Friday afternoon the teens, Akil John, 16, of 225-33 113th ave, John Lee, 16, of 225-32 113th ave, and Vladimir Felix, 17, of 225-14 112th Rd, decided to follow UPS trucks and several other delivery vehicles. Once the drivers made their deliveries the teens would rip open the packages.
 
After opening the packages, John, Lee, and Felix, either kept the items or tossed them throughout their neighborhood. With traces of their alleged spree all over the neighborhood, Fourth Precinct Police located the teens a short time later and arrested them. 
 
John, Lee, and Felix are currently charged with seven counts of Petit Larceny and will be arraigned Saturday in the First District Court in Hempstead. 
 
NCPD On the Lookout for Hempstead Bank Robber
Nassau County Detectives are currently on the lookout for a man who robbed a bank in Hempstead on Friday night. According to detectives, a man believed to be either black or hispanic slipped the teller a note and demanded cash. 
 
After being given the money the man fled the bank and ran away in an unkown direction. During the robbery there were four employees and two customers in the bank. None were harmed.
 
The robber was described as having a light complexion and black hair, is between 5’11 to 6’ tall, 180 to 190 pounds, 30 to 35 years old, and had a medium build. He was unshaven, wore a black sweatshirt, black pea coat, black sweat pants, dark colored sneakers, and sunglasses. 
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this Robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
