Man Robbed in Roslyn Heights After Arranged Car Purchase Through Craigslist

Roslyn Heights, NY - November 22, 2015 - The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Roslyn Heights on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 6:22 pm.

According to detectives, a 36 year old male victim arranged to purchase a car he had seen on Craigslist by meeting the owner in front of a residence located on Carlyle Place. After the victim realized there was no car at the location he was approached by two unknown male subjects. Subject one tried to distract the victim as he spoke on his cell phone and to the victim. He is described as being male, black, 6’ 0 “ tall, medium build, 150 lbs., dark hooded sweat shirt, dark pants.

Subject two pointed a black handgun and demanded cash. He then hit the victim in the head with the handgun and removed and undetermined amount of US currency, cell phone, and black wallet. Both subjects then fled on foot with the proceeds east on Willow Street. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
