Woman Arrested Driving Without a License After Uniondale Crash

Uniondale, NY - November 22nd, 2014 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a serious auto accident that occurred on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 7:19 p.m. in Uniondale.
 
According to detectives, an unknown male black was operating a 1992 Honda travelling south on Nassau Road with a 56 year old male passenger. The Honda struck the rear of a 2006 Nissan, being operated by Vilma Guifarro, 41 of 661 Nassau Road as she was attempting to make a left turn. The driver of the Honda fled the scene on foot. The passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury. Guiffarro was treated for back pain at an area hospital at which time it was determined that her license had been suspended multiple times. 
 
Upon her release from the hospital she was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle by Unlicensed Driver. She will be arraigned on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead. Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks.
