Man in Custody for Allegedly Robbing Baldwin Gas Station at Knifepoint, Violently Resisting Arrest

The First Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man for a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11:02 PM in Baldwin.
 
According to detectives, officers responded for a Robbery at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 1738 Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male entered the store, displayed a knife and demanded money. The subject left the scene with an undisclosed amount of US currency.
 
A thorough investigation was conducted and the subject was located in the vicinity of Sunoco Gas Station.  After violently resisting arrest, Austin Dupuy, 27, of 373 Stowe Avenue was placed into custody.  Three (3) knives were recovered.
 
Further investigation revealed the defendant was responsible for an attempted Robbery that occurred on November 7, 2025 at the Qwik Pic Convenience store located at 2169 Grand Avenue in Baldwin. The defendant is also responsible for a Grand Larceny that occurred on November 10, 2025 in Rockville Centre.
 
Defendant Dupuy is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.  He will be arraigned on Friday, November 21, 2025 at First District Court, Hempstead.
