Officials: Far Rockaway Teen Arrested for Striking Girl with Bicycle Lock and Chain

Inwood, NY - November 21, 2017 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for an assault that occurred in Inwood on Monday, 11/20/17 at 6:40 P.M.
 
According to detectives, a female victim, 13, was walking on Doughty Blvd. with a group of friends (juveniles), when defendant Allan Lopez Villeta, 19, pushed one of the male juveniles, 15. As the female victim attempted to stop the defendant and her friend from fighting, the defendant picked up his bicycle lock and chain and struck her on the head. 
 
Lopez Villeta fled on his bicycle but later returned to the scene, where he was placed under arrest.
 
Nassau County police ambulance transported the female victim, who sustained a large laceration to the head, to a local hospital for treatment.  No other injuries were reported.
 
Lopez Villeta is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Possession Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree and Endangering Welfare of a Child.  He will be arraigned on Tuesday, 11/21/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
