Huntington Station Woman Allowed Her Dog to be Attacked by Other Dogs, Suffolk SPCA Says

Huntington Station, NY - November 21, 2017 - On November 19th, 2017 Suffolk County SPCA Detectives charged a Huntington Station woman with cruelty to animals.
 
Pamela Caruso, 59, was charged with animal cruelty  a misdemeanor. After an investigation, it was determined that she failed to provide a safe housing environment for her dog, causing the dog to be repeatedly and brutally attacked by other dogs. 
 
Caruso has been ordered to appear in  First District Court in Central Islip on January 29th, 2018 to face charges of animal neglect. The misdemeanor offense could lead to up to a $1,000 fine and/or up to one year in prison.
 
Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
