Nassau County, NY - November 18, 2016 - At the Nov. 16 meeting of the Nassau County Council of School Superintendents, members arrived bringing gently used professional attire for both men and women as well as festive holiday stockings filled with snacks, surprises and much-needed socks.

Thanks to the planning efforts of the NCCSS Social Network Committee chaired by New Hyde Park-Garden City Park UFSD Superintendent of Schools Robert Katulak, the women’s professional clothing including business suits, dresses and accessories will be donated to the Dress for Success Program in New York City.

This program provides clothing for veterans and rehabilitated adults, who are reentering the workplace and need business clothing that is professional in nature.

The men’s suits, shirts and ties will be donated to Career Gear, an organization that provides services similar to the Dress for Success Program. The holiday stockings and socks will be donated to those serving in the military as a reminder that they are remembered and appreciated during the holiday season.

“As chairperson of our Social Networking Committee, I am very proud of the efforts of our committee and grateful to all the Nassau County school superintendents who generously contributed to these initiatives during this season of giving,” said Katulak. “It makes me very proud to be a member of such a philanthropic group.”
