Woodbury, NY - November 15, 2016 - Family Service League (FSL), a Long Island based non-profit human service organization; is pleased to announce a successful 24th Annual Great Chefs of Long Island, which took place on Monday, November 7th at Crest Hollow Country Club. Over 500 guests enjoyed 40 of LI’s top restaurants present their best cuisine. These culinary tastings and delicacies were paired with a wonderful selection of beers, beverages, and wines from Long Island and European vineyards.

An outstanding number of honorees, generous sponsors and guests, along with an amazing committee, raised over $200,000 for FSL’s programs and services.

FSL had the privilege of honoring several outstanding individuals and companies for their commitment to improving the quality of family life in the communities FSL serves. Wayne Grossé and Bethpage Federal Credit Union received the Community Leadership Award. The Corporate Leadership Award was presented to Bob Trenkle on behalf of USI Insurance Services LLC. Giorgio Meriggi of Stresa Ristorante Italiano was awarded the much deserved “Restaurateur of the Year”.

The dedicated committee of volunteers was led by Co-Chairs Matt Niegocki of Prudential Financial Services, Dennis Russo of Geico, Richard Jay Scholem, FSL Board Member, and Francine Whitehead, FSL Board Chair.

“This was a wonderful event due the dedicated efforts of our volunteers, restauranteurs, and sponsors. The proceeds help maintain the over 60 programs FSL offers to children and families across Long Island.
