Suffolk Police Report Man Arrested for Driving with 54 License Suspensions

North Amityville, NY - November 19, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a North Amityville man for driving with more than 50 license suspensions on Sunday, November 18.
 
James Brown was driving a 2000 Dodge Caravan westbound on Prospect Street West in North Amityville when officers observed him pass a stop sign at the corner of Great Neck Road at approximately 4:10 p.m. A check of Browns’ license revealed it had been suspended 54 times. Brown was also in possession of crack cocaine.
 
Brown, 66, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Brown will be held overnight at the First Precinct and will be arraigned on November 19 at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
