Lindenhurst Man Busted for Drugs During Merrick Traffic Stop, Cops Say

Merrick, NY - November 19, 2018 - The Seventh Squad reports the Arrest of a Lindenhurst man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 8:45 p.m. in Merrick.
 
According to detectives, police conducted a VTL stop on Merrick Rd. and Lincoln Blvd. When officers approached the vehicle, they noticed drug paraphernalia on the floor of the front passenger area. Further investigation revealed a cardboard box containing approximately five pounds of marijuana. The operator of the vehicle, Frank Luca, 28, was also found to be in possession of 151 Tetrahydrocannabinol cartridges. He was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Frank Luca is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree as well as multiple VTL violations. He will be arraigned on Monday, November 19, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
