Northport, NY - November 19, 2018 - On Tuesday evening, Legislator William R. Spencer M.D. joined the Village of Northport Mayor Damon McMullen and Trustee Tom Kehoe, to recognize John Miller and Mike Kempter, owners of Northport’s Snug Harbor Marine, for their 35 years of service to the boating community. The elected officials presented the local businessmen with proclamations to honor their long-standing stake in the community.

“Northport welcomed two south-shore guys into their neighborhood all of those years ago, and we’ve been honored to have been in this location for all of our adult lives. Our customers became our friends and we will miss them,” stated John Miller.

Dave Weber of Seymour’s Boatyard stated, “They are truly going to be missed. Over the years, they’ve helped thousands of boaters and always served with honesty and good hearts.”

“When I heard they were closing up their shop and moving on to their next chapter, I made it a point to recognize the value their small business brought to our vibrant boating community.  I am personally grateful for the knowledge and enthusiasm they brought, and I know they will be greatly missed by boaters in Northport and beyond,” stated Legislator William R. Spencer.
